President Trump has left the White House for the last time.

Accompanied by his wife Melania, Mr Trump travelled by helicopter for Joint Base Andrews, where he gave the final closing remarks on his presidency.

He told his supporters that he loved them, and they accomplished so much during their term in the White House.

Donald Trump left the White House as president and arrived in Florida a citizen after his term ended with Biden’s inauguration.

The former president kept his involvement with the inauguration and handover of power to President Joe Biden as minimal as possible.

On the South Lawn of the White House, President Trump and first lady Melania Trump board the helicopter Marine One as they leave the White House. “It has been a great honor and an amazing four years,” Trump was heard to say to a small throng of spectators as he gave a final wave. NBC’s Peter Alexander notes that there has been no contact between Trump and President-elect Biden as the helicopter lifts off.
